Doctor, Doctor !

Well done to Ian, who has successfully defended his PhD thesis “Factors influencing mixing and mass transport in the small intestine” . Well done Ian!..Luvly to see cool Soft Matter Physics in snotty mucus and smelly Possum’s guts 😉

Welcome Catherine!

Welcome to fellow soft materials enthusiast Catherine Whitby! Great to have Catherine in IFS, and look forward to working together…. You can check out her website here: www.surfacechemistrylab.com

NZ Trip

After the Brisbane Biophysics Conference was good to have Jiri Kozelka visiting NZ. He had an excellent time giving research talks around the country and seeing a little of NZ as he went. Thanks to all for the Kiwi Hospitality!

StarStuff

Awesome to have Jocelyn Bell Burnell, discoverer of pulsars, here next week giving a talk about how, as Carl Sagan so beautifully put it, we are all Star Stuff

ASAXS !

Bill, Brad and Jess got to the Synchrotron in Aussie earlier in the year and with Duncan McGillivray (Left) from the University of Auckland, and Tim Ryan and Nigel Kirby from the SAXS beam line team, did some anomalous scattering measurements in an attempt to measure the ion-distribution around polyelectrolytes of varying charge density. Really […]
