Maiden! Maiden! need I say more? Thats what I call a proper group meeting. Thanks to Max for designing the Team Biophysics Maiden-esque T-shirts..genius…..if only Giraffes could shred…
Bill, Brad and Jess got to the Synchrotron in Aussie earlier in the year and with Duncan McGillivray (Left) from the University of Auckland, and Tim Ryan and Nigel Kirby from the SAXS beam line team, did some anomalous scattering measurements in an attempt to measure the ion-distribution around polyelectrolytes of varying charge density. Really promising results using Rubidium as a monovalent sodium-substitute with absorbance within the available energy range…..On the back of this we have more beamtime at the end of the year:-)
How many scientists does it take to load a sample into a capillary???? !!!
Was sweet to be involved in the launch of the Maori science academy and meet a real-live astronaut who had piloted and commanded the space shuttle;-) I love science!!
